A Journey of a Lifetime!
So I said, “Yeah, I’d do that! Absolutely!
I would do that!” At the time I
thought the chance of it happening was remote at best; maybe Brian had had a
bit more wine than I realized. It sounds
like all fun and games until you think about it – the logistics, the time
commitment, the old bodies abilities, the weather, the mountains, the preparation,
the unknown…. But what a great journey
if it does happen, and I wanted in.
Brian’s resolve to make this happen hit me about a year ago
when he sent a text with a picture attached.
The picture was of a very large camper.
The tag line read, “Look what I just bought for our bike trip!” My first thoughts when I saw that text, “I
guess he was serious. This is really
going to happen!” The final dose of
reality was when Brian told me his brother, Bruce, had graciously volunteered
to go along and drive the camper from site to site. This trip becomes a lot easier, and a lot
less stressful, when there is help and support only a few miles down the road. And that’s when it hit me, “I am on a path to
experience a journey of a lifetime!”
